America 250: Three Presidents - Lincoln, Grant, and Garfield

Recurring weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States, the Stark Museum of Art presents "America 250: Three Presidents - Lincoln, Grant, and Garfield." This special focus exhibition features three watercolor paintings by Taos artist Oscar E. Berninghaus. Each painting shows a moment from the early life of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant or James Garfield. These scenes remind us that these well-known leaders began as ordinary boys who worked hard and hoped for a better future. This exhibition, on view May 16 - December 23, 2026, is part of the America 250 and SETX 250 celebrations taking place across Southeast Texas. It gives our community a chance to take part in the 250th anniversary and learn about the presidents who helped shape our nation.
