Toledo Bend Reservoir

Sam Rayburn Reservoir

Sam Rayburn Reservoir (114,500 acres) is the largest lake entirely within Texas and an elite largemouth bass fishery. The lake hosts numerous professional tournaments and is known for producing large bass. Surrounded by Angelina National Forest, it also offers excellent camping and boating.

Neches River

Runs through Beaumont from north to Sabine Lake

The Neches River is the lifeblood of Southeast Texas, providing excellent kayaking, canoeing, and fishing opportunities from Village Creek confluence south through Beaumont to the Sabine Lake. Bass, catfish, and gar fishing is productive. The lower Neches offers alligator sightings year-round.

Duck & Waterfowl Hunting

Southeast Texas sits at the convergence of the Central and Mississippi flyways, making it one of the premier duck hunting destinations in North America. The coastal marshes, rice fields, and wetlands of Jefferson, Orange, and Chambers counties attract enormous concentrations of teal, pintail, mallards, and other ducks during migration.

Whitetail Deer Hunting

The piney woods of Hardin, Jasper, Newton, and Tyler counties offer excellent whitetail deer hunting in classic East Texas forest habitat. Both bow and rifle hunters pursue quality bucks in the national forest, state forests, and on private lease lands throughout the region.

Alligator Hunting
