Before the old coach left a couple of months ago, I would have left a much better review. However, this coach was fired and this company screwed me over and took money that I did not have without informing me of the NEW cancellation policy even though I had to leave town suddenly due to getting a new job. Do not go here and save your money! If I could afford a lawyer I would take action. They will say they are here for you and act as a family but they are lying now that the actual coaches and management has changed.
What I like about this place is that they focus on both technique and overall fitness. The classes are intense but in a good way. You leave tired but satisfied. The instructors are patient and make sure everyone understands what they are teaching, even beginners. Definitely a good place if you want to improve yourself physically and mentally.
I wanted to find a jiu jitsu gym in my area and after going online and doing a lot of studying on schools and techniques, I realized how solid and amazing 10th Planet’s reputation was. I decided to go and try a free class and boy, was I glad that I did. I was hooked. The gym is clean, inclusive, friendly ,, and welcoming. Everyone there is incredibly welcoming. I started out feeling nervous but quickly became more excited over anything. All higher level belts help me learn and our coaches are simply the best. If you’re looking for BJJ or martial arts , you should try 10P Beaumont !
One of the best places, very friendly people
Great facility, great coaching and great training partners
Super nice, clean facility and the coaches are spectacular. Extremely knowledgeable and patient. I recommend this place to anyone that is considering getting into martial arts!
I attended 10th Planet Beaumont for several years, and I enjoyed a highly technical approach to BJJ, Judo and Muay Thai. Coaches answered all questions with technical justification and historical experiences. Viral videos and reels of martial arts would get reviewed and explained by the coaches, whether it is logical or otherwise. Coaches support the martial arts path of a student, whether it is for losing weight or competition. The course structure is set up with both new and higher belt students in mind. Lower level belts attend the beginner class as well as the higher level belts, where high level belts can practice their teaching on basic moves. The advance class places emphasis on more experienced BJJ practitioners. Beginners, after multiple classes, can be placed on the advance class, further expanding the knowledge and experience.
This is a great school for all ages and walks of life. The instructors are thorough with explanations of instructions and have a passion for teaching. As a law enforcement officer the benefits are immeasurable. Thank you Bryan and all the instructors at 10th planet Beaumont!!!!
This place is awesome, coaches are friendly, thorough, detail oriented, and dont mind putting themselves in precarious situations so you have a better understanding/ability to perform the series of tasks set infront of you. The people who attend this gym are just as friendly and respectful as the owner and coaches.
Greatly Recommend! Brian Debes is as high level as you can get in BJJ and just as good of an instructor/teacher.
Went here for a couple of years and only left the gym due to moving away for a job. Loved the place while I was there, and use to visit during holidays. The place and people have always been welcoming, knowledgeable, caring, and transparent.
Great culture! I just started my Jiu Jitsu journey at 50, and I appreciate how the coaches focus on the fundamentals and allow me to train at my speed!
My husband was apart of this facility at its beginning. It had and still has wonderful instructors, knowledgable instructors and students, large mat space and an overall welcoming environment. Whenever we make it back in town, my husband and kids love dropping to enjoy class.
I've been training in jiu-jitsu for over 3 months now, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start my journey than 10th Planet Beaumont. I had no prior experience with any combat sports, so stepping into this world was both exciting and intimidating but the environment here is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The head coach is a 2nd-degree black belt under Eddie Bravo, and the depth of knowledge he brings to the mat is unmatched. What I really appreciate is how the coaches take the time to work with you personally. Whether you’re stuck on a move or just want to dive deeper into the technique, they’re always there to help.
There’s something oddly satisfying about learning how to choke someone while laughing with your training partners. And Knowing you're building real self-defense skills that could help you in future situations is what truely motivates me to go there everyday.
I train here 5 days a week, and the more I go, the more addicted I get. The learning never stops, and the vibe keeps pulling me back in. Huge thanks to the coaches for creating such an inspiring space to grow, train, and toughen up—physically and mentally.
10th planet is great and the instructors are even that much greater. 1,2,3 🙌 10th planet
Been coming here for BJJ for about 3 months. Have progressed like crazy....at least I feel that way. Compted once already and placed 2nd.
Great enviroment. feels kinda like a sweaty family. We also do things together sometimes outside of choke each other and pumch each other.
Has been a great experience.
Great training, very welcoming!
Was incredibly excited to do the 6 week Muay Thai program, had 2 and 1/2 weeks of really good experiences followed by a practice where an instructor chose to make fun of me and call me out in front of the whole class. When you have a highly experienced instructor beating up and making fun of somebody with 4 days worth of experience and nobody steps in to do anything, it should be a giant red flag. Make sure you read the refund policy because they're more concerned with just taking your money and not following through on holding each other accountable. You should be horribly ashamed of taking people's well-earned money just so you can make a spectacle out of people just starting their journey.
EDIT: I thought I could just put this bad experience behind me, but now more than half a year after the incident I have students from 10th planet stalking me on multiple social media making fun of me for quitting. What more do you want from me? You took my money, embarrassed me in front of everyone... and then after all this time with no contact, you decide to start terrorizing me online? What the hell is wrong with you and your students? LEAVE ME ALONE

Great community very attentive staff to answer all your questions . Coaches are top notch and make sure you fully understand what you’re learning and that you are learning the proper techniques during your training . The facility is very clean and over all a very friendly and professional atmosphere
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Beaumont is an outstanding facility with everything you need for a great training experience. The gym is clean, spacious, and well-equipped, making it a perfect environment to train. The coaches and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel like part of the team. They genuinely care about your progress and help you stay consistent with your training, no matter your experience level. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, this place is great for everyone looking to improve their skills or fitness. Highly recommend!
Very welcoming clean gym with knowledgeable coaches! Great for hobbyists and competitors. I highly recommend 10th Planet Beaumont!
Started coming to 10th planet 6 months ago and haven’t regretted it since, you’re joining into a great community with great instructors who all care about teaching and helping everyone become better versions of themselves.
Since joining 10th Planet's kickboxing fitness and Muay Thai program, I've seen a significant improvement in my overall fitness. The combination of high-intensity workouts, functional strength training, and combat techniques has boosted my endurance, strength, and agility. The structured routines not only enhance my cardiovascular health but also sharpen my coordination and mental focus. It's been an excellent addition to my fitness journey, helping me maintain peak physical condition and improve my skills in combat sports.
Great place to learn Muay Thai and BJJ and amazing community!
I went by the studio, and the muay Thai instructor was very helpful, thank you.
I absolutely love it here. Very knowledgeable, easy going at your own pace atmosphere, and very friendly and positive!
I love it you learn so much and the people are so nice
If i could give them 10 stars I would. A great place to learn, muay thai and jiu jitsu. I didnt know anything about either, but the instructors teach and will make sure you get it right. Love 10th planet!
So far my experience at 10th planet has been awesome. They make you feel like family .
10th planet is Awesome! The coaches are so motivating! I’m currently in the Kickboxing class and it is a incredible workout! They encourage you and help you do what you can. It’s the most intense 45 minute workout I e ever done and feel good upon leaving with all the positive feedback the coaches give. It’s a variety of things and great music which helps it go fast too! I’m loving my time at 10th Planet! Thanks Coach Eugene & Coach Dom!!
Best place to Learn kick boxing , Muay Thai , jiu-jitsu !!!! Wonderful coaches , my favorite it coach Dominick green ! Rember y’all get one free class so join now !!!!!
I dropped by when I was in town visiting family and had a fantastic roll. The lunch crew was really welcoming and I it was a great class!
Went in for information on classes and was immediately greeted warmly and felt very welcomed!
Great environment for the kids. I would recommend anyone to bring their kids here. Instructors are true professional on their art and they are passionate about sharing their skills.
Head instructor (Brown Belt) definitely a high level black belt, but his head coach lives in Los Angeles. So don't be fooled by the brown belt. He does have his own standard of promoting and it's pretty high. A few of his top guys would be considered brown maybe even black belts anywhere else in the area. If you want a blue belt I wouldn't miss any classes for at least a year and a half and you might want to be productive in competition.
Besides that the jujitsu is great and the coaching is second to none. Dominique is fantastic and is great with kids, El and Franco are two awesome brothers that teach the first jiu jitsu class and they understand everything the new person is going through when joining a new gym, so it's unlike any other place as far as having people lead and guide you. Eugene teaches kickboxing will definitely get you results, he's a machine I'm not sure if he even gets tired.
Jim Debes is the judo/little dragons instructor and the only multi black belt at the gym and in multiplie disciplines. Very laid back and patient with new students. Judo is only once a week Fridays
Anyway hope this helps sincerely James W
Pros: 2500 square feet of mat space, definitely the best mats money can buy. Great coaching
Cons: not enough jujitsu classes and only one with the head instructor (takes months to get promoted to his class) the students are unaware of the curriculum that they need to be focusing on to advance. It makes it very awkward and confusing
Great work out. I enjoyed the class.
If you have done any research on Jiu-Jitsu you know that 10th Planet is at the forefront of innovation in the art. This place is amazing. They treated me like a long lost friend when I visited last year. The facility is clean, the instructors are kind, professioinal, and skilled, and everyone is treated as equals. It's a fantastic environment. I highly recommend this place!
I travel all over the country for work and was able to drop in and train here while in town.
If you follow mma, jui jitsu, or Joe Rogan then you've heard of 10th planet.
These guys are the real deal. It was my first time at a 10p and I was not disappointed. Nicest group you'll ever meet and absolute killers on the mat. Their blue belts seemed like high level purples. Plus they were so friendly i felt like family right off the bat.
I took the muay thai, fitness kickboxing and jui jitsu. I was really impressed with each of the coaches and their ability to explain and demonstrate. The classes aren't overloaded with people so you can get a ton of one on one help.
Beaumont is sitting on a hidden gem here with 10p and I'm jealous I dont live nearby.
Thanks again guys, hope to see yall down the road.
Great people and patient with children!
Brian "Barncat" Debes the real deal! Exciting atmosphere, and he's very intuitive with the students.
I go here every week for my fitness, Great
This gym is easily the best place to train no gi jiu jitsu in the southeast Texas area. Not to mention the kickboxing and mma programs are excellent as well. It's a wonderful facility with tons of mat space.
The instructors are extremely knowledgable and super supportive and helpful! Also, the mats are cleaned every day after practice which is awesome! The atmosphere is super friendly and all the students help each other get better at this combative martial art.
The program is absolutely the best option to help you lose weight, because it's so fun you don't even realize you've exercised so much. Alsoy you're learning a valuable and dominant form of self defense that can help you survive and function during any possible form of violence in the streets. (Hopefully you won't have to use it; but it's better to know how to handle yourself and not need it than the other way around.)
As I mentioned before, everyone is super supportive and helpful of each other. And if you're nervous about coming in and getting "roughed up"; that is absolutely not the case. Beginners start slowly and everyone is mindful of new students. Also, the instructors never put a "spotlight" on students which can make some people self-conscious. Instead, the instructors show everything in detail and answer questions. Then you break into groups of 2 and practice the move.
That being said, this is an excellent sport to get involved with a friend!
I had the opportunity to attend a seminar taught by Brian, and it was a wonderful experience! He's incredibly knowledgeable, and dedicated to teaching good Jiu Jitsu. I highly recommend attending his classes!
This is the best training facility around with great instruction too! Go check it out!
This is one of the nicest facilities I have ever been to. Very clean with a HUGE mat space. And the instructor, Brian Debes, is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend this school if you are in the Beaumont area. I wouldn't want to train anywhere else.
Brian Debes is an excellent coach who possesses a talent for explaining complex information in a way that is simple and accessible to students regardless of their skill levels. As an instructor, Debes takes pride in the development of his students and is supportive of their personal goals. The training environment is kept very sanitary and the atmosphere is welcoming to practitioners of all skill levels. I would easily recommend this gym for both children and adults.
10th Planet Beaumont is a beautiful and clean facility. The staff of instructors are very knowledgeable and extremely talented in presenting their instruction. Brian Debes is not only a very intelligent instructor but an amazing competitor. You will not be disappointed when your and your family visit this school.
Warm and inviting atmosphere, Brian is VERY knowledgeable and willing to help out any beginners pick up and join in the classes routines. I wouldn't dare train anywhere else, classes also have great students who are skilled and willing to pass on any tips or pointers to the less experienced.
Like myself :)
Brian is an absolutely awesome instructor. He has an amazing eye for detail and specializes in a lot of positions that are kill zones you need to know if you are a competitor in MMA or Jiu Jitsu (or would like to be). I'm glad to be connected to such a talented instructor. If you are in Texas, this is your gym. Not to mention, what a NICE facility! It's beautiful and you have to see it. I love this place. :)
I have been attending this gym for nearly 2 years now (my first 6 months were at the hotbox on campus at Lamar University and now one and a half years at the new facility) and have loved every second. I had absolutely no knowledge of jiu jitsu before I started, but I was invited to try it out my first semester of college and I haven't looked back. Not only have I improved my physical health, I have also improved my mental health by having an outlet for stress and anxiety and frustration. You can truly tell that Brian, the jiu jitsu instructor, and Jeff, the kickboxing/MMA instructor, love what they do and are extremely knowledgeable of the sport. The environment is fantastic as well, and everyone just has a great time together. I highly recommend coming to try it out (especially with that First Month Free offer).
