To claim your listing on the Southeast Texas Business Directory, search for your business name or phone number on Claim Your Business, choose the claim option next to your listing, enter your email address and name, and open the confirmation link we email you. Claiming is free. After you confirm, our team reviews the claim, and once it's approved you can update your details, add photos, reply to reviews and keep your hours current from your owner dashboard. If your business is new to the directory, add it free instead.

Why claim your listing

The Southeast Texas Business Directory has more than 23,000 Southeast Texas business profiles, from Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange to Nederland, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and the towns in between. Many of those profiles were built from public business information, so there's a good chance yours is already here and waiting for its owner.

Claiming your listing lets you:

Keep your details accurate. Update your name, address, phone number, website, email and social links whenever they change.

Tell your story. Add a description in your own words that explains what you do, who you serve and where.

Show your work. Upload photos of your storefront, your team and your projects.

Talk with customers. Reply to reviews customers leave on your listing.

Get a 30-day Featured boost. When you confirm your claim by email, your listing is Featured on the directory for 30 days at no cost.

Accurate, owner-managed details also give search engines and AI assistants one more trustworthy source for your business. Our guide to getting found on Google, Bing and AI assistants explains why that matters.

Step 1: Find your business

Go to Claim Your Business and type your business name or phone number into the search box. If you share a common name with other businesses, add your city or try your phone number. You can also start from your city's page, such as Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Nederland, Lufkin or Nacogdoches.

When you see your business in the results, choose the claim option next to it to open its claim page.

Step 2: Request your confirmation link

On the claim page, enter your email address and your name, and request your confirmation link. Use an email address you check often, since it becomes the login for your owner account.

Step 3: Confirm by email

Open the email we send and click the confirmation link. The link is time-limited, so it's best to open it soon after it arrives. If the message takes a moment to show up, check your spam or promotions folder, or request a fresh link from the claim page.

The confirmation page asks you to choose a password, which creates your owner account. Your 30-day Featured window begins at this moment.

Step 4: Your claim is approved

If the email you confirmed is on the same domain as the website on your listing (for example [email protected] for yourbusiness.com), the claim is approved on the spot. Every other claim is reviewed by a person before editing opens, which keeps listings in the hands of their real owners, and we email you as soon as it's approved. The claim your listing help guide covers each screen in detail, including what happens if a listing shows a pending claim.

Step 5: Complete every field

Once your claim is approved, sign in and open your listing from your dashboard. The edit your listing help guide shows every field and button. As you fill it in, keep these tips in mind:

Business name: use the name on your sign, exactly as it appears on your Google Business Profile and website.

Description: write two or three short paragraphs covering what you do, who you serve, the towns you cover and what makes your business distinctive. Plain, specific language works best for customers, search engines and AI assistants alike. Here's the shape of a strong opening, to fill with your own true details: "Smith Plumbing is a family-owned plumbing company serving Beaumont, Nederland and Port Neches. We repair leaks, replace water heaters and clear drains for homes and small businesses, with appointments Monday through Saturday."

Address: enter your street address in the same format you use everywhere else. Our NAP consistency guide explains why matching details matter.

Phone, website and email: use your main local number, your full website address and an email you monitor. The contact email you enter here appears on your public listing.

Google Place ID: this optional field connects your directory listing to the matching place on Google Maps. Google's Place ID Finder, in its Maps developer documentation, shows the ID for any business.

Social links: add your Facebook, Instagram, X, Yelp and Better Business Bureau pages so customers can find you wherever they prefer.

Save your changes when you're done.

Step 6: Add photos

Upload pictures of your storefront, your team, your work and your products. Photos are reviewed before they appear publicly, and the edit your listing help guide shows where to add them. Clear, well-lit photos help customers recognize your building and picture working with you.

Step 7: Reply to reviews

Customers can leave a review from the review section of your listing page, and reviews appear after our team approves them. To reply, open your listing in the dashboard, go to its reviews page and write your response under the review. Your reply appears beneath the review on your public listing. Our guide on how to ask for reviews and reply includes reply templates.

Step 8: Keep it current

Revisit your listing whenever your hours, phone number, address or services change, and check it once a quarter. In Southeast Texas, that includes updating your details promptly after storms and during holidays so customers see current information.

Where your listing appears

Your listing has its own page on the directory, and it also appears in search results and on the city and category pages customers browse, such as restaurants and food in Beaumont, home services in Port Arthur, beauty and personal care in Orange and health and medical providers in Nacogdoches. A complete description, current contact details and good photos help your listing stand out wherever customers find it.

Share your listing's web address too. Add it to your email signature, your social profiles and your invoices, and send it to customers when you ask for a review, so it works for you every day.

If your listing shows as already claimed

If the claim page shows that your listing has already been claimed and you're the owner, email [email protected] with your business name, the listing's web address and how to reach you, and we'll help you get access.
