How to edit your business listing
Update your name, descriptions, address, phone, website, email, hours, social links and photos, and see where each one appears on your profile.
Updated
Once your claim is approved, you can edit your listing yourself at any time. Open your dashboard, click Edit listing, change any field on the Basic Info, Contact, Hours and Social Links tabs, and click Save Changes. Your public profile shows the changes as soon as they are saved. Photos have their own page, under Photos.
Open the editor
- Sign in and open your dashboard (see /help/owner-dashboard).
- Click Edit listing next to your business. The page title reads Edit: followed by your business name.
At the top of the page you see the buttons View public profile, Photos, Reviews and Website badge, then your Last 30 days and Profile strength cards. Click any Profile strength suggestion to jump straight to the field it needs. The editor itself is further down the page.
How saving works
- Every field starts with what your listing shows today.
- Switch between the four tabs as much as you like. Changes on every tab are kept and saved together.
- Click Save Changes at the bottom right. When it worked, a green message says "Listing updated successfully! Your public profile shows the changes now."
- Leaving a field empty and saving removes that detail from your profile.
Basic Info tab
| Field | What to enter | Where it appears publicly |
|---|---|---|
| Business Name (required) | Your business name as customers know it. | The heading of your profile, the page title in search results, directory listing cards, and your website badge (the badge picks up a new name within about a day). |
| Short Description | One sentence about your business, up to 160 characters. The counter under the box shows how many you have used. | Under your name on directory listing cards, and as the summary of your profile in search results. |
| Description | A few paragraphs: what you do, who you serve and the areas you cover. 250 or more characters completes the Description item in Profile strength; the counter under the box shows your current length. | The About section of your profile. When Short Description is empty, the start of your description is used as the search summary. An empty description hides the About section. |
| Street Address | Street number and name. | The Address line in the Contact Information box, the map and the Open in Maps link. |
| City | Your city, spelled the usual way (for example Beaumont). | Your address, and the city pages that list your business: the directory matches the city name. |
| State | Two-letter state. Starts as TX. | Your address. |
| ZIP Code | Five-digit ZIP code. | Your address. |
| Google Place ID | Your business's Place ID from Google. Use the Google's Place ID Finder link under the box to look it up. | Stays private. It lets you import your Google reviews (see /help/get-more-reviews). |
Contact tab
| Field | What to enter | Where it appears publicly |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | Your main business number. | The Call Now button at the top of your profile (it appears whenever a phone number is filled in) and the Contact Information box. |
| Website | Your full website address, starting with https:// (for example https://www.example.com). | The Visit Website button at the top of your profile and the Contact Information box. |
| The address where you want customer messages. | The Contact Information box. It also turns on the Request Quote button on your profile; quote requests are emailed to this address and listed under Quote Requests in your dashboard. |
Hours tab
The Business Hours card has one box per day, Monday through Sunday.
- Type each day's hours, for example
9AM-5PMor9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. - For a split day, separate the times with a comma:
8AM-12PM, 1PM-5PM. - Type
Closedfor days you are closed, orOpen 24 hoursfor round-the-clock days. - To reuse Monday's hours, click Copy Monday to Tuesday–Friday.
- Click Save Changes.
A blank day is left off your profile. If every day is blank, the hours section is removed. Each day holds up to 80 characters.
Where it appears: the Business Hours table on your profile and the open or closed status shown next to your business name.
Social Links tab
| Field | Where it appears publicly |
|---|---|
| Facebook URL | The Facebook link in the Social Media section of your profile. |
| Instagram URL | The Instagram link in the Social Media section. |
| Twitter/X URL | The X (Twitter) link in the Social Media section. |
| Yelp URL | The Yelp link under the Social Media section. |
| BBB URL | Saved to your listing. The profile shows your BBB accreditation status (when we have it on file) rather than the link. |
Paste the full address of each page, for example https://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness.
Photos
- Click Photos on your dashboard or on the Edit page. The page title reads Photos for followed by your business name.

- Click Upload Photo. The message "Photo uploaded! It will appear once approved." confirms it.
Your uploads appear under Your Photos with a Pending Review label until our team approves them, then Live. Live photos show in the Photos gallery near the top of your profile, which shows up to 12 photos. Three photos complete the Photos item in Profile strength.
Details our team updates for you
Your category, the main photo across the top of your profile and the YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok links are set by our team. Email [email protected] with the change and your listing's address, and we will update it.
Troubleshooting
The editor says "Claim Pending Approval". Editing opens as soon as your claim is approved. See /help/verify-ownership.
Save Changes switches me to another tab and shows a message. A field on that tab needs a fix: the Website must start with https://, the Email must be a full email address, and Business Name must be filled in. Correct it and click Save Changes again.
I see "That Google Place ID is already linked to another business in our directory." Each Place ID belongs to one listing. Check that you copied the Place ID for this location; if it is right, email [email protected] so we can sort out the duplicate.
I see a message such as "Monday: use a time range like 9AM-5PM, or type Closed or Open 24 hours." Change that day to a time range such as 9AM-5PM, Closed or Open 24 hours, then save again.
My changes are saved but the profile still shows the old details. Refresh your profile page. Your website badge can take about a day to show a new business name.
A photo upload says "Only JPEG, PNG, and WebP images are allowed" or "File must be under 5MB". Save the photo as a JPEG, or resize it below 5MB, and upload it again.
A photo I uploaded no longer appears under Your Photos. Photos that do not pass our review are removed. Upload a different photo.
